A comprehensive video solution designed for judges and referees
The French Swimming Federation has taken a decisive step in modernizing its competitive swimming events by integrating a video officiating (VAR) solution specifically designed for the needs of competitive swimming. Thanks to a standalone Video Replay system comprising four underwater cameras and two tripod-mounted IP cameras, judges now have reliable and intuitive tools to make fair, fast, and professional decisions.
Competitive swimming events are meticulously timed, where every second counts. Implementing an intercom system with five VOKKERO ELITE units enables clear and instant communication among key officials supervisor, chief judge, and starter judges. Everyone can communicate in real time via professional walkie-talkies without interfering with the race.
A turnkey installation, designed for all competition formats
Our service includes on-site installation, team training, and tailored support (on-site or remote) according to the requirements of each competition. For this project, VOGO collaborated with the French Swimming Federation to co-create a solution designed to meet the federation’s specific needs: optimized camera angles for each stroke, marking of the 15-meter lines, and intuitive camera naming to streamline and simplify decision-making.

Until now, video officiating systems used in major competitions relied on heavy setups, with additional cameras dedicated solely to officiating. These resource-intensive solutions remain out of reach for many national federations, which often have to rely on TV footage designed for the general public unsuitable for the specific needs of officiating. By integrating our video system, the Federation finally provides its officials with a tool truly designed for their role, thereby enhancing the credibility and fairness of competitions.
