Among its flagship facilities, the Ingréo aquatic complex in Montauban stands out as the third-largest aquatic center in France, offering a wide range of spaces dedicated to swimming, wellness, and relaxation. Similarly, the swimming pool in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, located on the Basque coast, features modern amenities designed to meet the needs of its users.
The brief
Récréa aims to provide its teams of swim instructors with an innovative tool for teaching swimming. This educational system will cover the entire aquatic journey, from early water discovery to learning how to glide and acquiring full swimming skills. The goal is to engage swimmers more actively by offering clear reference points and supporting their understanding of each stage in the learning process.
The tool also supports clubs in developing athletic performance.
Finally, it offers an immersive experience for families, who can follow and share swimming lessons.
The deployed solution
VOGOSCOPE, developed by VOGO, is an immersive multi-angle video capture solution (both underwater and above water) that has been adapted for aquatic activities. Videos are available live or on-demand via tablets or screens provided on-site. They enable instant analysis of movements, making it easier to give feedback and adjust exercises. VOGOSCOPE also highlights meaningful moments in the water, offering families the opportunity to record and share lasting memories.
The solution adapts to all aquatic disciplines: swimming, water polo, artistic swimming, diving, and more. It meets the needs of instructors, lifeguards, and facility managers by enabling better monitoring of swimmers. Its deployment in Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Montauban was accompanied by training sessions, public demonstrations, and the participation of Alain Bernard, VOGO’s ambassador for the swimming pool market. VOGOSCOPE enhances Récréa’s existing educational programs, such as Ludimania and Impulseo, by adding an interactive and engaging dimension.

Optimized high-performance training
Local sports clubs benefit from an analysis tool usually reserved for professional teams. Swimmers receive video debriefs poolside; they can analyze their movements, review turns and starts, and adjust their technique with the guidance of their coaches. Coaches, in turn, gain efficiency in individual monitoring and competition preparation.
Accelerated and engaging learning
The initial implementations of the VOGOSCOPE solution demonstrate improved understanding of movements among both children and adults thanks to the video sequences. The mirror effect and the immediacy of visual feedback enable a faster grasp of swimming fundamentals.
The lifeguards highlight easier communication with children and shorter learning times. The solution also adds a playful element, motivating kids, for example, to dive underwater and say “hello” to the camera…
