VOGO equips the CAO in partnership with Récréa, enabling connected aquatic activities.

Now a training base for the French Swimming Federation, the brand-new Aquatic Center features the latest innovative VOGO solutions.

The Recrea Group

Facing the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, the Centre Aquatique Olympique Métropole Grand Paris (CAO) hosted the diving, water polo, and artistic swimming events during the Paris 2024 Games.

In its legacy phase, it becomes the training base for the Diving Division of the French Swimming Federation and more…

Opening to the public in June 2025, it welcomes people of all ages for swimming lessons and practice, school classes, and recreational aquatic activities. It also offers sports facilities dedicated to other activities such as padel, climbing, fitness, and more.

Récréa, a major player in the delegated management of leisure and sports facilities (with over 40 years of experience and more than a hundred venues in its portfolio), will manage the center for the next decade.

The brief

The French Swimming Federation sought to install a video capture and live & replay solution to enhance diver performance. In addition, Récréa decided to equip the CAO’s Olympic pool to offer users a connected aquatic experience.

The deployed solution

Based on the French Swimming Federation’s specifications and Récréa’s brief, VOGO installed a VOGOSCOPE solution in three areas of the CAO:

  • The diving pool: two underwater cameras and three above-water cameras capturing divers from the platforms down to underwater. The dives are viewed on a rugged tablet and a touchscreen display.
  • The dry-land diving training area: a combination of fixed and mobile cameras captures figures and landings in the foam pits, as well as exercises on trampolines, before divers perform their water dives. Multiple rugged tablets and touchscreen displays allow coaches to monitor each athlete individually.
  • The Olympic pool: six underwater cameras and two ceiling-mounted cameras enable monitoring of swimming, water polo, synchronized swimming, or any other activity in the pool, accessible via a tablet and a touchscreen display.

The two VOGOSCOPE solutions, connected to the VOGO Cloud, enable not only live video analysis but also post-session debriefs during both training and competitions.

The result

Optimizing sports performance

Thanks to underwater and above-water cameras, divers and their coaches can analyze movements and landings in the water in real time. This enables precise corrections and rapid performance improvements.

Post-session video debrief

The VOGOSCOPE solution allows tagging each athlete, creating clips for each of them, and performing detailed video analyses of trajectories, angle calculations, and synchronization. This enables precise debriefs where everyone can visualize their movements and better understand the improvements needed.

An intuitive and engaging tool, also serving recreational and public use.

The VOGOSCOPE solution is also designed to enhance water confidence, learning, and play sessions… what could be more fun for children than greeting the underwater camera, helping them forget their fear of putting their head underwater and swimming fully immersed?

“This partnership enables the CAO to be at the forefront of technology. Beyond this project, it opens up new opportunities for us to digitize the facilities entrusted to us. This goal is perfectly aligned with our mission: to bring ever more innovations to our users to enhance their sports activities.”
