Organized with playoff matches on August 8 and 15, 2025, the Football Shopee Cup officially kicked off its group stage on August 20, 2025, running untilMay 27, 2026. This inaugural edition of the tournament, bringing together the top clubs from Southeast Asia, features 13 matches held across multiple venues.
In this context, implementing a certified and robust Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system was essential to ensure fair play and strengthen the competition’s credibility.

The operational launch took place in Bangkok, where VOGO teams, alongside Cristian Conti and Daniel Romero, oversaw the installation of the VAR rooms at BG Stadium, serving as the strategic hub for video monitoring of the matches.
