“For faster player support and detection, the National Rugby League (LNR) has set up for the Top 14 and the Pro D2 the VOGO video system to see live from the edge of the field replays of the match. The LNR has also trained Medical Video Supervisors or SVMs. An SVM is someone who has been trained to detect a concussion and who is works with the match doctor (…). They can therefore see what they want and also see the replay of the actions. If there is a doubt about a hit to the head, the SVM marks the play on their tablet and immediately alerts the doctor. They then say: “look, this player seems to have a problem, so I’ll mark the specific plays for you. And you will be able to see them in the medical area where there is a large VOGO HD touch screen.
